Broadcast Team Seeks Web Design/New Media Specialist

Broadcast production team is seeking a part-time multimedia/web specialist who
can update the organization’s web site with ‘new media’ items that will
enhance and build upon the stories produced by the broadcast team.

This person must be proficient in web design, development of editorial content,
and researching story lines. He or she will work closely with the production
team to augment the broadcast feature stories with a media rich web site
featuring relevant videos, interviews, news stories, articles, and links to
popular social networking sites. This person must be both creatively and
technically minded.

Minimum requirements for consideration:

• Bachelors degree in web design, communication, multimedia development,
graphic design, or related field.

• Two years of applying these skills in a professional capacity.

Additionally, candidates should have expertise in the following areas:

• Web design expertise using software applications such as InDesign,
Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator (HTML, CSS, XML).
• Experience in feature story or news copy writing/editing
• Strong knowledge of New Media technologies, trends, file types, popular web
sites, etc.
• Good sense of aesthetic for balancing form and function of web site.
• A creative mind to think of new and exciting ways to integrate New Media
items into the web site.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

The applicant would be working three days a week out of our downtown
Washington, DC office. Salary will be commensurate with experience. A hiring
